Kathy Shalhoub

Kathy Shalhoub was born in Lebanon in 1978 to a Lebanese mother and Polish father, but by her own admission, she is truly a Lebanese madame, born and bred (well almost). At 17, she traveled to the U.S. for her university education. Years on, with degrees in her pocket including Electrical Engineering and a Masters from the world’s nerdiest university, MIT, when she finally got a job and started making money, her family almost disowned her for giving up the Holy Grail: an American green card! Many travels and adventures later, she found herself in the South of France getting a PhD in Ocean Science. Only then, after meeting and eventually marrying her three Nevers: - a Lebanese-American smoker, she moved on to the bigger challenge of starting a family.

Life as a Leb-neh Lover is Kathy’s first book but she intends to write many more, none about engineering. In the meantime, she is taking care of her baby girl and does consulting work when it strikes her fancy. Apparently no one in Dubai is desperate for a specialist in underwater robotics and marine optics.
